It appears that AJ Green has been given the green light to make his debut.

Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said on Wednesday that he believes the star wide receiver will be making his season debut on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.

Green did not play the first eight games of the season after undergoing surgery in July for an ankle injury which he suffered on the opening day of training camp. With him out, the Bengals have had a less than perfect 0-8 season so far.

The return also coincides with the benching of Andy Dalton in favour of Ryan Finley who will make his first career start after being taken in the fourth-round of this year’s draft.

The wideout, who is in his final year of his contract, has stated on numerous of occasions that he wants to remain in Cincinnati. The 31-year old and the club are in talks for a new extension.

Throughout the NFL, Green is recognized as one of the league’s best receivers when he is healthy. He racked up 46 catches for 694 yards and six touchdowns over nine games in 2018. He was sidelined for seven games last season with a toe injury.

While Green will be a huge boost to the team, it is more of a lost season for the Bengals who will need to do a lot of tinkering for next season.
