USC is closing in on signing a deal with Cincinnati athletic director Mike Bohn to become the school’s new AD.

The Trojans have been without an athletic director since September 9 when Lynn Swann hastily resigned without any warning.

Bohn has been leading the Cincinnati program since 2014 and previously held the athletic director position at Colorado. The Bearcats’ football program turned around because of his hiring of head coach Luke Fickell. That program hand faltered under Tommy Tuberville.

Bohn recently made a change with the basketball program, appointing John Brannen as the new head coach of the men’s basketball team after Mick Cronin bolted for UCLA.

Should a deal get finalized with USC, Bohn will likely make his first decision on weather or not football coach Clay Helton remains with the program. The coach’s job security has been in question for a while now as he is 37-20 while leading the football team.
