Alex Ovechkin is the 20th player in NHL history to hit the 600-goal mark and the fourth fastest to do so in 990 games.

The only three that netted 600 pucks faster in less games were Brett Hull (900), Mario Lemieux (791) and Wayne Gretzky (718).

Ovechkin took over the league lead in goals with his 41st in the opening frame and his 600th was number 42 on the year, which puts him two ahead of Jets forward Patrik Laine.
