After playing the first seven seasons of his NBA career with the New Orleans Pelicans, Anthony Davis made his first visit to New Orleans as a visitor.

The now Los Angles Laker had an extended, and very public, fallout with the Pelicans last season and was traded in the offseason to the Lakers.

Obviously, the fans in N’walins probably didn’t think too fondly of the Chicago, Illinois native. It was all confirmed Wednesday night when AD was booed relentlessly during the introductions which fittingly included the Darth Vader theme being played in the area.

That wasn’t the only time the fans showed their displeasure with Davis as they booed him during warm-ups and every time that he touched the ball. Basically, he was getting booed a lot.

Because of the animosity built up in the fans towards Davis, the Pelicans organization decided not to have a tribute video for their former player during the game.

Headed into the game the Lakers were at the top of the NBA standings with a 15-2 record while the Pelicans sat 12th in the Western Conference with a 6-11 record, so Davis is doing just fine in the Laker gold. Well, I guess it is a but easier when you have LeBron James to play with than anybody AD played with on New Orleans when he was there.

While the fans in the Big Easy might not have much, if any, love for Davis these days, Davis still thinks highly of the city of New Orleans and his time there.

However, on this night, the fans didn’t get the outcome that they wanted as Lakers defeated their hometown Pelicans 114-110 with Davis getting the last laugh by posting 41 points and 9 rebounds in his return.
