Antonio Brown is getting close to returning to the practice field.

That is according to Oakland Raiders head coach Jon Gruden following the wide receiver’s participation in the team’s walkthrough on Saturday.

Brown has been out while he dealt with frostbite on his feet from a cryotherapy chamber misfortune and has yet to practice since the incident. The 31-year old did not suit up for the Raiders’ second preseason game but did go through drill during the pregame.

While he has been out, the seven-time Pro Bowler has been fighting to wear a helmet that is no longer approved by the NFL. Right now, Brown’s people have been trying to locate a Schutt Air Advantage model manufactured in the past 10 years.

Brown did find a 2014 edition of his preferred model however it failed a test that is required by the NFL so it cannot be used.

Even though he has been out for the better part of training camp, quarterback Derek Carr says that Brown has familiarized himself with the team’s playbook.
