Sacramento Kings point guard De’Aaron Fox said that he was withdrawing from Team USA to prepare for the upcoming season.

That leaves just 13players for USA Basketball to look at for the final 12-man roster for the FIBA World Cup in China. The moves by Fox comes just a day after ISA coach Gregg Popovich said that 14 players, which included Fox, would travel to Australia on Saturday for a trio of pre-tournament games.

Fox was not the only player to withdraw from the team as Houston Rockets veteran PJ Tucker also left the squad but due to injury.

Fox, 21, played just six minutes in the 90-81 exhibition win by the American team over Spain on Friday but he was impressive during the entire camp showing off his blazing speed.

During his sophomore season with the Kings in 2018-19 Fox averaged 17.3 points and 7.3 assists on 37.1 percent from beyond the arc.
