The Emerald City will be getting an All-Star Game.

Their team hasn’t even hit the ice and the NHL has already guaranteed that the city of Seattle will be hosting the midseason showcase sometime in the first decade of existence.

The NHL’s newest franchise has been promised an All-Star Game within seven years, according to league commissioner Gary Bettman.

Bettman added that the draft is likely coming sooner than the All-Star Game, and that the team name should be revealed sometime this year.

The NHL will also be studying the feasibility of an outdoor game there.

Seattle will start play for the 2021-22 season, a season later than the franchise had originally hoped to step onto the ice.
