Montreal’s Offer Turned Down Again

Montreal is on the radar of Major League Baseball to have a team return to the city but for a second time in recent weeks the league has declined an offer from the city to host games.

Montreal had offered to host the Houston Astros and Texas Rangers following hurricane Harvey and the flooding that devastated Houston. Those games were ultimately moved to Tropicana Field, home of the Rays. Now with Irma barrelling towards Florida the city once again offered to host the upcoming three game series between the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays which is to start on September 11th.

Irma is expected to hit Florida on Saturday as a category four hurricane.

While it has not been announced where the games will be played, the commissioner’s office has said that it will not take place in Montreal. Reports indicate that a decision by the league would be made on Saturday with Baltimore the likely destination for the series.

we will keep fighting until we get it done. They took our team away for no reason. The year we were going to win the world series they went into lockout. They just hate us.
