Detroit Red Wings forward Tyler Bertuzzi will miss the next two games.

Bertuzzi was suspended by the NHL on Monday for an unsportsmanlike conduct and roughing calls on Colorado Avalanche forward Matt Calvert.

The incident occurred on Sunday when Bertuzzi grabbed Calvert’s stick while the Wing sat on the bench and proceeded to punch him in the face.

This is the first suspension in the NHL for Bertuzzi. He will be out of the lineup until Saturday when the Red Wings faceoff against the New York Islanders.

So far this season, Bertuzzi has nine goals and 16 points in 27 games.
