Monday morning in Japan, Floyd Mayweather was announced to return to fight at an event on December 31 of this year.

However, it is not a boxing match per say.

The Rizin Fight Federation announced that the champion boxer would fight 20-year old kickboxing sensation Tenshin Nasukawa, who is undefeated. Earlier in the day, Mayweather posted a picture of himself on social media wearing Rizin MMA gloves.

Rizin chairman Nobuyuki Sakakibara said that the rules and stipulations have yet to be worked out but will likely be announced in the next two or three weeks. Another thing that was not announced was what the payday would be for each fighter, and we all know how much Mayweather loves to brag about how much he will make for his fights.

Mayweather, who has teased retirement from the boxing ring and heading to mix martial arts, has a perfect 50-0 record. His last fight was a win over UFC superstar Conor McGregor on August 26, 2017.

Nasukawa, the featherweight title holder, defeated former UFC flyweight contender Kyoji Horiguchi at Rizin 13 back on September 30, where he showed off his kickboxing chops.

The fight, which will take place at the 37,000 seat Super Arena in Saitama, Japan, will be the first time since November 2005 that Mayweather will fight outside of Las Vegas.
