We all dream about being the one to walk it off in a game of baseball but rarely get that chance.

You know the situation, being at the plate with the bases loaded and two outs already in the books, then bam you hit it to bring home the game winning run and the crowd going nuts.

Well, that isn’t what happened in a recent minor league baseball gamed.

The situation was there though. The bases were loaded and there were two outs against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers who were down by two runs. Their batter Nic Pierre couldn’t put the ball in play. But he did walk it off against the Burlington Bees in a Class-A game last Friday night.

I know, you must be puzzled.

Pierre swing through the pitch that was in the dirt for strike three. He sprinted to first as the ball got away from the Bees’ catcher Keinner Pina. What ensued was a comedy of errors that allowed all three runners on base to cross the plate and give Wisconsin the victory.

Now kids will be dreaming of that moment they strike out but still walk it off for the victory.
